A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court

6.92

This classic piece of writing by Mark Twain was published in 1989.

After being hit over the head, Hank Morgan falls from consciousness while working in a factory. He awakes in the year 528 in the UK where he is apprehended and returned to Camelot. Here he faces the death penalty by The Knights Of The Round Table.

However, Morgan is very fast on his feet, Using his knowledge of the future to his advantage, he manages to escape the death penalty and becomes a very popular figure in these Dark Ages. He even goes on to be Prime Minister.

Attempting to bring more modern attributes to these Dark Ages such as bicycles and news papers, things are all going really well. When he attempts to make changes to the lives of the common folk though, things go sour and somewhat out of control.

A really great story by the amazing Mark Twain.

I personally love this story, and as a time travel fan, i am sure you will too.
