Would Teleportation Work – Opinions?

Teleportation Transporter

Many questions have surrounded this subject over the last years. One of my friends asked me some time ago about my thoughts on this subject so I decided to do a little research about teleportation. Would teleportation work?

Is it possible? Is it just a ‘spooky action at a distance’ as Einstein claimed or is it a real phenomenon as the scientists claim?

Professor Hanson, His Theories and Experiments

Scientists and researchers claim that the laws of physics don’t make the teleportation of humans impossible at all. So did Star Trek know something way ahead of its time? Would teleportation work? Or are we hoping for a little too much?

Star trek Transporter - would teleportation work?

Dr Hanson has said that ‘If you believe we are nothing more than a collection of atoms strung together in a particular way, then in principle it should be possible to teleport ourselves from one place to another.’

To prove this, Professor Hanson and his team made one unique experiment.

This great team of scientists teleported information, encoded into subatomic particles at a distance of three meters with complete success.
In other words, they demonstrated and proved that it is possible.

This was the first step in building an internet network – the future quantum internet. It is said to be a way of securing a one hundred percent secure communication platform because nobody can intercept this information.

Einstein had previously disagreed with this theory many years before, saying that is impossible for a signal to pass between particles at the speed of light, but our great minds don’t give up.

What next?

In the near future (actually in July 2016) a new planned experiment will take place which will attempt to prove that Einstein was in fact, wrong.

An attempt will be made to try to teleport a signal at a larger distance between two buildings.  This experiment will be carried out at a university where Professor Hanson teaches.

This time, the distance will be extended from 3 meters to 1300 meters. So this experiment is a lot more ambitious.

Once the results of this experiment are released I will be reporting on them, so I will let you know my thoughts as soon as I can.

For now, we just sit in hope that they will succeed with this experiment.

Other Opinions

Last year, another great physicist by the name of Alex Kuzmich shows a form of information teleportation by entangling a computer’s atoms and photons on demand.

If you can build a quantum computer, the physicists are aiming to build ‘quantum networks’ that will link many computers together. One of the main benefits of this discovery is the security.

See also  Einstein and Time Travel - His Theories

Another professor, Michio Kaku, claims that the teleportation of a living person from one place to another will be possible in the next decades. He also claims that time travel and invisibility will be soon possible too.

In fact, he goes on to mention about a potential experiment where an atom can be teleported. He says that as we have been able to teleport light, it would be also possible to teleport atoms and molecules.

A new record in quantum teleportation was made by researchers in US and information encoded in particles of light has been teleported over 100 km of optical fiber.

News 2017

Whats scientists achieved new in teleportation? You would not believe:) They have teleported a photon to a distance of 1400 km(870 miles), to a satellite named Micius, in space. In fact, what is teleportation? Is just sending not really the thing its self somewhere but just the state of a thing. Can this happen and with the human body? Teleportation relies on a phenomenon named quantum entanglement. What means this? When two particles are created at the same place, at the same time and have the same existence it occurs a quantum entanglement.

A Romanian scientist at the University of Bristol, Professor Popescu Sandu is working at this phenomenon since 1990.So how he explained this works? If are two entangled particles and a third one is interacting with the first one so we can see the change from the first particle, also in second identical particle while they have the same existence and are twins.

So in their experiment, Chinese scientists created many pairs of entangled photos, thousands and then beamed one photon of each pair to the Earth satellite Micius and the conclusion was that those photons are identical twins and maybe more than this. But photons are very fragile and if they interact with the matter on Earth’s atmosphere they lose their entanglement. The good news is that in space they can extend indefinitely.

Some updates

So ,to be possible human teleportation are only two ways but both of them are difficult to be done, almost impossible;

  • we can transmit one person like using a fax:) . the human body should be translated into data to be possible to be transmitted and than,in the destination place to be changed into matter. Possible?
  • another way is to deconstruct human body in atoms and reconstruct it at the destination point.
See also  The Philadelphia Experiment True Story

There is a ‘ small ‘ problem here. Even if it was possible, to break  the human body into data it will require as much as the UK energy supplies for a million years and more and will need about five millions years to transfer the data, according to the University of Leicester studies. But Kaku has a different opinion. he claims that all this problems will be resolved in the next decades and he propose a teleporter that will work as a Ultra MRI scanner.

So he think that is a better idea to use x rays to transmit  a human body date, to beam it into space into a satellite and than send to the destination point.

Still everything is in theory. Scientists are working to teleport photons and soon will be possible to teleport atoms. Kaku thinks that in the next decade will be possible the transport of a molecule and the next step is the whole DNA.

If in 2010 physicists ( Jian -Wei Pan and his team)at the University of Shanghai ( Chine) teleported photons without fiber optics more than 16 km now they repeated this experiment and achieved the distance of 97 km. Big difference I think.

So..we will  see soon 🙂

These are a few updated in 2019 but if i find something new i will let you know.

Conclusion

So as you can see there are conflicts of opinions. Some say teleportation can be possible (just like the example in Star Trek) in the future, and others not. What do you think?

Is it just a fantasy or is it something that can be achieved?

Now listen, I know that this subject is very involved and to be honest, we can talk about different areas that can leave you with a headache.

As I said before, I want this website to offer certain information without getting too technical and confusing.

Do you have an opinion on teleportation? Maybe you have read some information before that can be shared here?

If so I would love to hear from you, just leave a comment below.

Thanks

I have always been interested in time travel. From a very young age I was forever watching movies that would take me back in time.

I would love to hear from all of you who are also interested in this subject. Movies? Science? Book? Literature?

Whatever your interest is, I would love to meet you.

I fully think it’s possible. I’m not so keen on science so I can’t explain the possible mechanism behind it, but I really do believe this is something that is possible. I even heard of stories of people casually driving on a road and out of nowhere ended up on a road another continent in a split second. Whether it’s true or not, I still think it is possible.

    Hi Cristina
    Very interesting topic of discussion.

I am not very clued up with the laws of physics , but I do have admiration for these professors and scientists that keep pushing the boundaries.

I am of the opinion that teleportation will be vey possible. Technology is evolving at such a rapid pace, it is only a matter of time, till this becomes a reality.

This would be awesome and you mentioned about invisibility becomes “true” as well one day. Wow!!

I guess I may have watched too much of movies, but I would love to see this all happen one day.

    Thanks

    Hey Christina,

Very Interesting article on teleportation! I really enjoy reading it.

Hmm on my opinion if teleportation can be possible, I think it can be, as technology is evolving every time. If one day it’s possible then I could be guy from jumper already lol. And not to mention, there will be no need for transportation already. (All the car companies will lose money haha)

So even it’s possible one day, a lot of things will change. Idk what will happen in the future but I hope it will do us good! 🙂

Hi Cristina. I liked your article a lot. Now, I think that anything can be possible, so teleportation is very likely to become a reality soon, based on the information I read. I hope that the experiment in July 2016 will be a success. With teleportation there probably won’t be any need for cars, buses, airplanes etc. But if invisibility becomes a reality, I fear that there will be more criminal activity, so I am an opponent of invisibility.

Wow… I totally believe this could happen. However I will admit it’s kind of scary. Seems like everything we grew up on back in the 70’s is slowly but surely starting to come to fruition. That been said, I think we’ll see cars hoover before we see humans teleported.

    Great content!!

Thanks Cristina, for a very exciting post. I think it will take a little more time for teleportation to become a full reality. A lot more still needs to be figured out especially if ‘teleportation’ of humans is to be made fully possible. I love brains that work behind creations like Star Trek because they get all of us thinking. The survival instinct of humans, I believe, is what constantly drives them into every imagination – and reality. Adversity is the root of all invention! As man continues to face more adversity, teleportation will be made very possible!

In my opinion teleportation is definitely possible, but i don’t think we are ready for it. Could you imagine the damage on the world economy if suddenly we don’t need planes or trains for export? The world would change a lot and in my opinion world is not ready for such big changes, at least not yet. Thanks for the article, it was very interesting.

Yes this is true. it will be a big problem.Catastrophic for the economy and this is why is not for public use teleportation. This is one of the reasons. Not only for the economy. Imagine murderers committing a crime in a country and than in in a second to teleport in the other part of the world? So thanks again for reading my post and i am happy that u did find it interesting.

      Have a nice day 🙂

Wow. That would certainly make traveling the world a lot easier. So, Einstein wasn’t right about everything? It’s good to know that the human thirst for knowledge isn’t quenched. Thanks for your interesting article and video. Your website has some great blogs and the thought of time travel being possible is just mind blowing. The future really is stranger than fiction.

Yes it is 🙂 Things that we see now we didn’t even imagine 30 years ago:) so…we ill see BIG changes in the next decades:)Thanks for reading and I am glad that you like my site. If you need anything else to know just ask and i will try to answer.

You are right ,teleportation would make traveling much easier but do you really think they will allow this? Countries would lose trillions and trillions dollars from the petrol, selling cars, etc.so will never let teleportation for the population.Don’t you think?

    Hi Cristina,
    Great article about teleportation.
Today I think anything is possible, it might take some time to develop the right technique to do it, but in time people will be doing it.
A few years ago we didn’t have so many tools that allows us to work from home and now we’re doing it, we can chat to our love ones who are in different countries! so I think it’s just a matter of time!

Yes I think you are right. Anything is possible today , as you say in a few years things that you never imagined will be possible. Only one thing I don t know. I don’t think they will ever give teleportation to the public because will be a big lose for the economy.

Thanks for reading my article and feel free to read more and ask any question.

      have a good day

I think that teleportation is indeed possible. However, I take Dr. McCoy’s position. I would not want my atoms scrambled and then reassembled somewhere else.

The first question I would ask is: Would I still be “me” after having my atoms put back together? Or, would my spirit be removed and replaced by another spirit?

The second question is: What if something went wrong? Could I be reconstituted inside out? Or have my arms and legs switch positions?

Finally: What if a fly or spider were caught in my path when my atoms were scrambled?

    Remember the movie? “The Fly”

Truthfully, I hope they stick to figuring out wormhole travel instead.

wow:) This with the fly I never thought about..yes what if :))) But your second question is funny, about your arms your legs:) I am sure they will go int he right position 🙂

The wormhole is the same thing. Your are particles and then reunited in the other end of the tunnel:) So ..Safety no guaranteed:))) as you know .

Thanks for visiting my site and your comment made my day. I remember The fly movie and I will watch it again soon 🙂

Not long ago I would have said NO, teleportation will not work but now I am not really sure. There are soo many things happening around us and science and technology are constantly moving forwards.
Could it really be possible to teleport an object or a human being? The thought is really mind blowing and so is the thought of what you could use it for, simply moving from one place to another in no time at all.
This is making my head spinning, I hope Dr Hansson succeeds with his experiement and moves on to other things.
    Very interesting post.

Thanks for reading and I am glad that you did enjoy it . Yes it would be awesome to be so easy but they will not let it for the public it would be a big problem for the car sells and the fuel:)

It would be soon possible I am sure abut this, to transport humans and bigger objects wherever you want:) But you can imagine what you happen if everybody could teleport self anywhere?I am talking about criminals .killers,thieves,. Not everybody would use science in good purpose unfortunately.

      Don’t you agree?

Thanks again and would be nice to see you again on my site . Have a great day.

I would like to think that teleportation would be possible.

I am far from a scientist, and I am sure the concepts and ideas would go completely over my head, but being a lover of science fiction I would love to see this come about.

As with everything though, I feel it could be abused.

Great reading Cristina. I love your site.

Hello Chris, i am glad that you enjoyed my article. You don’t have to be a scientists to understand the concept and this is what i am trying to do. I WANT EVERYBODY CAN READ IT AND HAVE A GOOD TIME.I think you are right, if teleportation will be available of course humans will abuse it, will use it not only in good purpose. But also if will be possible will not let it available because will be a huge economical loss m( fuel, cars, planes)

Just to see the strides we are making toward an internet system that can do things like we have seen in movies is more than enough Sci-Fi for me. The truth is we are closer than we think just with what we have now. Think about even ten years ago. This whole idea was not up for debate. Researchers were still figuring out if it was science or fiction.

Now it is a debate on the possibility. There have been debates like this before. Cars. Space travel. The point is that I think we will be seeing teleportation more as a when than an if soon enough.

I also believe that auto industries will have little more than a change in the product to worry about in the next several decades. I.e. from cars to spacecraft.

As the idea of teleportation becomes more of a reality, space travel will become more mainstream. As it stands, there are lists for high powered people to go into space on the first “normal people” spacecraft. There are several of these in the design and building phases across the world.

I would just like to point something out. Our children are being expected to learn higher and higher math and studies that are geared toward making these leaps and bounds. As well as maintaining a new, more complex system than we already have.

I guess what I am trying to say is maybe there have been more breakthroughs than what is being released for everyone to see.

      Hello Brittaney,

      Hello Brittaney,
I think you are right, there is more we are allowed to know but at the right time will be let to the public. You can imagine that if teleportation would be possible, a big economic problem will appear.just imagine to not need fuel, planes, cars…Who would let this happen?
Thanks for reading, visiting my site.
